The Monthly Meeting of the Council was held on Thursday 6th October 2022 at 6pm at the Community Centre

Prior to the commencement of the full meeting, members met with representatives of two sporting bodies:
The Under 25’s Bowling team – Mr Eiron Thomas made a request to use both the bowling green and its facilities for sessions with an under 25s bowling squad next season.
This was agreed
Resolven Ladies Football – 2 representatives met the members to discuss ways of improving facilities in view of the welcome development of a Ladies football team in the village. Upgrades were needed generally in the area especially with regards to changing facilities and toilets. A request was made for a storage shed for the team and discussions were forthcoming as to the best avenues to follow to gain grant aid.

Cllr Lewis reported that the refurbishment of the drainage system at the top of Pentwyn hill and the top end of the bridge will take place in the next financial year.

116/21 Lighting at school camp – Following discussion it was agreed to make this an urgent matter
79/22 To consider request for Tree Guard on the Square
A request from the W.I. to fund a tree guard for the tree they will be planting on the square has been resolved by County Councillor Dean Lewis
80/22 To consider purchase of electric heater for the attic
There is no heating in the attic area, so it was agreed to purchase a small electric heater
81/22 Pen Y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund
The grant application for the refurbishment of the toilets in the bowling green has been awarded, and the and work will begin in November.

OVW – training plan template
Resident from Woodlands Terrace regarding state of road, however this is a private road and repairs are down to the owners of the property in that area.

Matter Arising
Item 4 14/9/22 – Upgrading of floodlights on the green
Members of the bowls clubs have obtained funding for this project and requested RCC permission to go ahead.
Resolved to allow flood lights to be upgraded
A request to purchase a new push mower for the bowling green was agreed for the next financial year.

A request for the use of the recreation field for Building Blocks for kids club event this was agreed.
Cllr A. Jones reported that much of the Autumn renovations on the bowling green had been carried out by volunteers for the bowling clubs
