The Monthly Meeting of the Council was held on Thursday 6th August 2020 at 6pm in the Community Centre.

Removal of lamp posts behind Ynysfach – Tai Tarian are awaiting legal advice before installing new lights
An open meeting of residents was held to advise on the installation of the Melin Court Wind farm. Muirhall Energy Ltd have contacted to ask for support for the project. A video is being produced and further discussions will take place with local residents
Parking lines over the drop kerb at the entrance to the park at the bottom of Vaughan Avenue are ongoing

The Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 2nd July 2020 were accepted as a true record.
60/20 Clerk’s report and Council Matters Arising/Materion yn codi o’r cofnodion ac adroddiad y Clerc.
The Clerks report was presented and approved.
61/20 Disabled access to the children’s park
Reports have been received that there is no disabled access to the Children’s park. This item was discussed at length and was delegated to the parks committee for further investigation into providing this facility.
62/20 Farmers Arms, Resolven
A complaint was made to NPT planning office that the owners of the Farmers Arms in Resolven had put in replacement windows in breach of the planning appeal regulations.
The matter was investigated by NPT and found that no breach had been made
63/20 Notices for the skate park
A complaint was received that several older youths from outside the area had been using the skate park to detriment of younger users. It follows that the youths were professional skate boarders and come to the park to show younger users their skills. Some younger children were spoken to and they stated that they enjoyed watching the skaters and were not intimidated.
64/20 Correspondence
BT – removal of payphone from Ynysfach Road – This item was discussed and it was agreed to respond to this item with the possibility of leaving the payphone
Planning App. – P2020/0596 – Canal car park – Retention of 3 container units for use as cafe/storage/seating area – No objections recorded and a letter of support to be sent to NPT
Planning App. P2020/0594 – Demolition of lean to at rear of property to be replaced with outdoor seating area – Vaughan Arms – No objections recorded however members would like more information about the plans for the building
Planning App. P2020/0627 – Demolition of existing utility room and replacement with single storey rear extension – No objections recorded

Finance/Funding – The minutes of the meeting on 9th July 2020 were accepted as a true record

The Chairman reported that the emergency line would cease on August 16th 2020

Cllr Trefor Jones reported on his meeting with the PSB board and written reports will be given to members.
Cllr Kamila Kulik asked if those currently shielding can join the meetings virtually. This will be looked into.
Cllr Alun Morgan reported that the Chairman’s Board has now been updated
