Ms Jessica Martin signed the Declaration of Acceptance of Office and was welcomed by the members as our new co-opted Community Councillor.

The minutes of the Meetings held on Thursday 5^th March 20256 were accepted as a true record

29/26 Clerks report and matters arising

Update on Abergarwed park/grant funding – The grant funding application form is in the process of being completed and quotes are being obtained

Co-Opt new councillor – The new councillor has now been co-opted

30/26. End of year accounts and internal audit.

The Clerk/RFO advised that the end of year accounts will be submitted to the internal auditor as soon as they are completed and will then be sent to the external auditor in due course.

32/26. Sub Committee reports – Finance/Parks

The monthly finance report signed

New Cllr Ms Jessica Martin has been assigned to the Parks committee and also as new Trustee for the Resolven Community Library.

33/26 Chairmans Report

The Chair was able to visit the Ganu during the week and enjoyed a pleasant time of friendship with all involved.

34/26. Councillors reports

Cllr A. Jones reported that the strimmers have been serviced and the new staging and leaf blower will be purchased in due course.

The paint for the changing rooms has also been purchased.
A proposal has been put to the football teams to purchase their own sit on mower making it more cost effective for the teams and Community Council.

Cllr Jones also proposed that the hanging basket competition be reinstated. All agreed to the proposal. A further proposal to renew litter picking in the village was also agreed.

Cllr P. Thomas reported that the Local Nature Partnership were offering grants to enhance biodiversity in nature in the local area.

Cllr T. Jones raised his concern about the ongoing planning application in Abergarwed for a holiday park. There is very little information regarding the progress of this plan and many of the villagers are concerned. Following discussion, it was agreed to contact the County Councillor Mr Dean Lewis for an update.

Councillor Jones asked for a formal vote on the matter. The Chairman agreed, and the vote was unanimous, with no amendments
