Bowling Green / Pavilion
New staging for the changing rooms has now been installed.
A new leaf blower has been purchased.
Additional general maintenance tools are required and will be purchased in due course.
Maintenance
All routine maintenance work is ongoing and carried out as required.
A letter will be sent to Short Bros., Resolven Industrial Estate, regarding the damaged fencing along the park boundary, requesting that repairs be undertaken as soon as possible.
Children’s Park
No issues were raised.
General Park
There are continuing issues with dogs and their owners using the parks despite clearly visible “No Dogs” signage. When approached, owners are often abusive towards staff and councillors. It was agreed that the most effective way to address this issue is to apply for a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO). New signage will be ordered to highlight the potential health risks and dangers associated with dogs in the parks, particularly to children.
Abergarwed Park
The proposed shelter has now been ordered and will be installed upon delivery.
Hall
No issues were raised.
Environment
Maintenance of the dram including painting and planting will take place in due course.
A proposal to install a flower trug beside the Resolven village sign on Neath Road was discussed. Following approval by Full Council, Cllr R. Coulter will approach the Men’s Shed to construct and supply the trug, with the Community Council providing the plants.
A proposal to reintroduce the Hanging Basket Competition during the next financial year was agreed and will be submitted to Full Council for approval.
Cllr Fuller reported that her two raised beds have now been planted with vegetables and flowers.
