06/17 NPT the canal basin toilets
Cllr Davies reported that at this present time the toilets will not be closed
16/16 – Underpass at Abergarwed
A letter from the Welsh Government confirms that work will be carried out at the end of May when the salmon spawning season is over
114/16 -Possible further landslip at Abergarwed –
A meeting will be held between relevant authorities including the Coal Authority to ascertain what remedial works are required.

The Clerk’s report was presented to members, there were no matters arising.
17/17 Waste grass on green and from parks
The issue of waste grass and vegetation has become a serious problem over the year and following discussion it was agreed to hire a skip twice a year to facilitate the removal of waste material

18/17 Cupboard in large hall room
In order to make room for storage the suggestion of a large cupboard being built was discussed. It was agreed to look into this further via the hall committee
19/17 Replace electrical equipment not fit for purpose and purchase toaster and PAT test what is usable.

20/17 Correspondence Received
OVW – NPT Area Committee meeting 8th March Melissa Williams re problems in the park – this item will be addressed by the Parks committee.
Hanging Basket Competition – Cllr Aylwin Jones declared and interest
An email requesting funding for the hanging basket competition prizes was received from Resolven District News.
Resolved to donate £50 1st prize, £30 2nd prize and £20 3rd prize
21/17 Sub-Committee Reports
The minutes of the finance committee were presented and accepted as a true record.
The vacancy for the Park and Environment keeper has been filled by Mr Roy Gillespie and the other candidate Thomas Davies will
act as relief Park and Environment Keeper to cover holidays and sickness
The next meeting will be Thursday 16th Mar 2017 at 6pm
The committee reported to the Council that planned maintenance of the park this month will include pruning large beech tree in the bowling green, removal of waste material at the side of the bowling green and renovation of the children’s park and clearing of overgrown grass around the railings

22/17 Chairman’s Report.
The Chairman advised the members that following the purchasing of new equipment for the parks and bowling green the bill from NPT this year has been significantly reduced and expects this to continue year on year.
The Chairman noted that the meeting in April will be the last of this present Council and he wished to thank all members for their hard work over the last 4 years especially to the fact that there had been no political agenda.
Cllr Evans attended the meeting and was informed by PCSO Musselwhite that the following will be receiving his continued attention
- Indiscriminate parking in the village area.
- An anti litter operation will be arranged and offenders dealt
- Observations and patrols made with a view to dealing with offenders by way of A.S.B.O.
