The Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 3rd July 2025 were accepted as a true record

The Clerk gave a verbal report the members;

66/25 Handryers in toilets – Following discussion it was agreed to install smaller hand dryers in the Community Hall
76/25. Picnic area in Glyncastle
A request from the Community Council to maintain the Glyncastle Picnic area has been rejected by NRW on the grounds that they have no resources or finances to manage the area. They are however open to enter into an agreement with members of the local community, if there were volunteers willing to help manage the site. 77/25. A proposal to recognise Mr Paul Davies who has run up Snowden in aid of cancer research
A request by a local resident to recognise the efforts of Mr Paul Davies who has scaled Mount Snowden many times, in aid of Cancer Research was discussed, and a letter will be sent to
Mr Davies for his valiant efforts.
78/25. Planters in the village
A request by a local resident to install and maintain a planter on the area of the old telephone box has been received by the Community Council. Unfortunately, the property is owned by NPT and it would need their permission which we understand has been denied on the ground of insurance liability.
79/25. Poppy wreaths
New poppy wreaths will need to be purchased this year, and all organisations will be contacted.
80/25. Christmas lights
Whilst the Christmas wraps around the poles will be going up this year, as many are aware we had a major problem with the banner last year. We have been advised that the banner is irreparable and we are hoping we can obtain another one at this time, however this is not certain. We will endeavour to do our best to see this happen.
81/25. Council Vacancy
It was agreed to extend the Notice of Vacancy for the North Ward for a further month due to no applicants

82/25. Correspondence Ffynnon Oer wind farm extension of operation another 10 years. – Members were delighted that this wind farm will generate many more years of Community funding. |

SURVEY – In Wales, in 2025, does the job title “Clerk” adequately reflect the role? |

Welsh Government Consultation on extending the duty on local authorities to broadcast meetings 83/25 Sub-Committee Reports Parks Committee – No meeting in September – The major project for the next 2years is the new 3g pitch, providing we are able to obtain funding; therefore, it will be general maintenance only in all the parks until such time as we can go ahead. Issues raised regarding the above project – CCTV is it included in grant bid and ongoing management of the project. These items will be discussed at the meeting on 11th September with the members and Mr Paul Hinder |
